Space - Furniture - Light
Häfele presented its new Häfele Lighting division for the first time at Light + Building 2024 in Frankfurt.
Nagold - 10.04.2024
Häfele Lighting is the first and so far only brand to combine the application areas of ‘light in furniture’ and ‘light in rooms’ into an integrated, networked overall experience. The Nagold-based company is uniting its successful Loox, Nimbus and Connect ranges under the new umbrella. With its bundled lighting expertise, Häfele Lighting offers architects, interior designers, planners, home and contract furnishers and the trade a unique approach to designing and planning with room and furniture lighting.

‘With Häfele Lighting, we presented ourselves in Frankfurt as a new and exciting brand in the lighting segment,’ emphasises Gregor Riekena, CEO of Häfele. ‘Our proven expertise in light in furniture, light in space and connectivity, paired with our deep understanding of materials and surfaces as a decades-long partner to the trade and project business, form the successful basis for this.’
Inviting, unexpected, inspiring
Häfele presented its new Häfele Lighting brand on a compact 100 square metres at this year's world's leading trade fair Light + Building in Frankfurt. The Nagold-based specialist for intelligent hardware technology, electronic locking systems, lighting and networking developed the cubic, black stand concept together with jangled nerves. The Stuttgart-based agency for spatial communication already designed the Häfele trade fair stand at BAU 2023 and the Blackbox lighting showroom the year before, creating a recognisable world of experience for Häfele Lighting for light in furniture, light in space and connectivity.

A wall-filling LED wall extended the trade fair visit into the digital realm. The wall showed immersive room and light stagings that are possible thanks to the wide range of furniture and room lighting solutions from Häfele Lighting. Photo: Häfe
Sustainable and sophisticated trade fair concept
Almost the entire staging consisted of the Häfele Versatile shelving and cabinet system. Linear light can be perfectly integrated into the profiles prepared for this multifunctional and individually configurable system, which is designed as a room divider or shelving solution for residential and shop fitting. At the Häfele Lighting trade fair stand, the six metre high outer walls served as an exhibition shelf for the company's diverse solutions and made trade fair visitors curious about the unusually designed interior. There, a ceiling grid of Loox light lines dynamically bathed the exhibition stand cube in different lighting moods. The entire stand was dismantled after Light + Building and will be used again at the BAU 2025 trade fair in Munich, where its content will be furtherdeveloped. With its stand concept, Häfele is once again sending out a clear signal in favour of ecologically and economically sustainable trade fair construction.
‘Maximising the value of space. Together.’ - ‘Maximising the value of space. Together.’ This is Häfele's guiding principle. Applied to the new Häfele Lighting brand, this primarily means creating more atmosphere through networked light in furniture and light in space. Photo: Häfele

Häfele is a competent partner for architects, interior designers, planners, home and property furnishers and tradespeople. With networked lighting solutions for furniture and rooms, but also with the familiar and extensive range of fittings technology and electronic locking systems. Photo: Häfele
With the new minimalist 24V lighting system OneCable from Häfele Lighting, light can be brought easily and flexibly to any desired location in the room without any complex interventions in ceilings or walls. Connectivity as a key competence
Inside the stand, trade fair visitors could look forward to pioneering solutions for designing room and furniture lighting from Häfele's Loox, Nimbus and Connect ranges. The highlight: the portfolio on display can be integrated into a radio-based Bluetooth network with Häfele Connect Mesh and easily operated via the new Connect Mesh App 2.0. This combines light and connectivity to create a sophisticated overall experience. With the Connect Mesh solution, small and medium-sized networks can be conveniently set up, customised and controlled - depending on the requirements and size of the projects. Scenes, groups and time control ensure a harmonious lighting atmosphere throughout the day. The Connect Mesh solutions are also compatible with devices from other manufacturers, such as Jung Home and Steinel Connect.

New products from Häfele Lighting: OneCable and R One
At Light + Building, Häfele presented a number of trade fair innovations such as the minimalist 24V lighting system OneCable, for the perfect symbiosis of light in furniture and light in the room. With this low-voltage system, light can be brought easily and flexibly to any desired location in the room, without the need for complex interventions in ceilings or walls. OneCable is based on slim aluminium profiles in black or white, which can be mounted directly on walls and ceilings. Depending on the colour chosen, they blend in almost invisibly or draw graphic lines in the room. In this way, OneCable also becomes a design element and sets visual accents. The ribbon cable, which is precisely fitted into the aluminium profiles, allows the luminaires to be positioned anywhere. Connection is very simple via a socket. Various luminaire types provide an ideal mix of diffuse and focussed light: from the rotatable and swivelling Spot 4 TT to the linear, fixed Spot 9 and the 8mm Loox LED strip that can be cut to length as required. The OneCable luminaires can be controlled individually or in groups with Connect Mesh, and the colour temperature and dimming level can be set individually.
Another new product is the R One recessed ceiling light. The round LED downlights for cavity installation are available with high-precision reflectors in four different beam angles, are Connect Mesh-capable, dimmable and available with Tunable White. They complement the square ceiling luminaires of the Nimbus families such as Q Four, Modul Q and Cubic, which can also be controlled via Connect Mesh. At the Light + Building trade fair stand, Häfele presented further lighting solutions such as the ‘Bed Light LED 3111’ wall-mounted bed light, the individually shortenable COB strips for particularly homogeneous light and classic Nimbus luminaires such as the Lighting Pad Lounge and the wireless Roxxane family.

Häfele Lighting also presented the new ‘Bed Light LED 3111’ at the Light+ Building 2024 trade fair. It can be mounted on the head of the bed, for example, and provides pleasant reading light in the evening. Photo: Häfele

The new COB LED strips (LED 2103 / 2104 / 3103 / 3104 / 3105) from Häfele Lighting produce a very homogeneous light with their continuous phosphor coating. The COB (Chip on Board) strips can be individually shortened. Photo: Häfele
Services as important added value
Another exhibition area on the stand was dedicated to the topic of Service Plus. Häfele supports its customers comprehensively and in partnership with its Plus services: from building up lighting expertise with the Häfele Academy, to professional lighting planning, to customised product development or support on the construction site.
